tonight at 11:30, nederland 3 is repeating pleasantville, a movie i didn't hate. i don't think i'll watch it again but i would recommend seeing it. personally, i'll only be watching het eiland tonight.
also, i've narrowed down my search for new speakers a bit: there's a good chance it's going to be the b&w dm602 s3 or dm604 s3, or the polk monitor 60. as for the subwoofer, it's either the b&w asw650 or the polk psw404. the polks are more affordable but visually less appealing to say the least. also, it's a half-hour drive to the nearest polk dealership, compared to like 10 minutes for the b&w dealer. of course, i'll at least try to get a good demo, but as it stands, it looks like i can't go wrong with an all-b&w set up—probably with the 604 speakers, even though they cost almost 3 times as much as the 602s. maybe my parents will pitch in—if not, i can still afford them.
i've got a sore throat and work is sort of piling up due to my general laziness. whee.

last year, in athens, we saw this group of asian tourists and one of them was wearing a baseball cap. only, instead of the name of an actual team, it had "wankers" written on it. i thought it was rather amusing.
today, i moved my pc's to my bedroom, then my dad moved my desk to my new room, and finally i installed vince, my main pc, there—well, here—along with my cable modem and amp. the reason why the rest of my hardware is still scattered across my bedroom is because the desk i'm currently sitting at is going to be replaced within a week. yes, i spent 2 hours cleaning out the room and an hour hooking up the pc again so i could do it again next week. all this, naturally, was another one of my dad's bright ideas. he insisted on refurbishing the room where my desk used to be asap, so i had to get out of there, whether my desk had been delivered or not. and as if that's not enough, i'm pretty much caved in in this room: behind me are huge piles of clothes that will hopefully vanish somewhere in the next couple of days, and the shelves behind those are full of stuff that's in desperate need of sorting and moving too. yes, it's quite the adventure over here currently and let's just say i'm not thrilled about it.

wicker park: 8/10. really, for a hollywood movie, it's pretty damn good. i loved the intriguing storyline, the visual effects and the choice of music. any movie that manages to find a proper place for coldplay's the scientist deserves at least an 8. i could've cried.
now, i saw that movie on a date yesterday, but i prefer not to talk about it. i'm still kind of processing everything that happened last night and it isn't easy. the key superficial consequences are my still being single and the fact that, for the first time in months—maybe even years—, i'm going to bed before midnight. aka now.

let me be the 15,000th to clear things up. this so-called exploit isn't what it seems. it's exactly the expected behavior and the reason why internet explorer isn't vulnerable is because it lacks the whole feature. what *can* be done, however, is give the user an indication of the domain name's internationalized character. the developers should work that one out, but earlier on, i ludicly suggested making the location bar purple—obviously bearing great similarity to the yellow bar on secure sites, of which i don't fully approve because users might use a similar yellow as their default input background. hence it might be ineffective. what i would do is invert the bar's colors or apply a color transformation. but that would sort of break themes. kinda like the whole extension vs. theme row. isn't feature-richness great?
i digress. it's what i do.
