“Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind”: 7/10. Nice plot and it definitely has its moments, but outside those, it just goes on and on and on to the point of utter boredom. I’m sure some of you will disagree, argueing that the slow pace and repetitive style add to the emotional profoundness and that the—sole—somewhat unpredictable plot twist and perhaps even the woozy flashback and some of the techniques used are pretty original. I, on the other hand, say it’s all been done and it doesn’t justify the exorbitant sappiness. And that’s coming from a guy who’s in love, so.
If I liked my school’s Central Bureaucracy half as much as I like Brecht, I would be absolutely thrilled about the fact that I appear to be the only person from the 2B class who they put in the 3A class, while the rest went to 3B, leaving me with a terrible schedule and nothing but complete strangers. Classes start on Monday, so I definitely need to have a word with them. Wouldn’t want to break my tradition of having to see the department secretary right from the first day, now, would we?
I told my mom about my new boyfriend tonight. She said, “What, another one already?”, to which I had to explain to her that, just because a friend stays over, it doesn’t mean he’s my boyfriend. Even after over 2 years of celibacy—well, nearly—, she somehow thought I was a total slut. That’s awesome. She must be convinced that I can get all the boys I want. I sure am popular among middle-aged women. And yet, I wouldn’t trade in my sweetie for any of them.
So I’ve been seeing this boy since Friday and I’m rapidly becoming infatuated. I’m not going to elaborate here since I haven’t used my blog for personal stuff in quite a while, but you’re welcome to ask.
Wikipedia is acting funky. It did that to me yesterday already and, while no-one seemed to be able to reproduce the problem, it’s still doing it. See what you get at this URL, it might hate you too.
If you’re wondering why I was at that page, I’d used my Wikipedia Firefox—or FireFox?—keyword to confirm the correct spelling of “Chechnya” for my current MSN avatar. I should’ve used my dictionary keyword instead, but I guess I use the Wikipedia one so often, there isn’t any brain activity involved anymore.
