Spatial Tag Cloud
In an attempt to improve on my earlier tag cloud concept, I rewrote the damn thing. The new version adds alpha transparency and skewing to create a 3D effect. Here’s what it looks like now:

Head here for an example. JavaScript and CSS files get compressed, so instead, please get them here and here, respectively.
The dynamic part is still based on MooTools (version 1.2 now) and compatible with any recent browser. I know the animation is a little choppy—there doesn’t seem to be much I can do about it. The number of tags is limited to 100 for performance reasons.
A future version will bring back zooming. In addition, I’m planning to include the means to pan across the surface. You are invited to suggest other features that may be of interest.
