This page allows you to embed one image into another, with minimal modification to the original. In other words, you can sneak an image into another one. This can be used, for instance, to disguise a compromising photo as a picture of a harmless kitten, pass it on, and then have the other party decrypt it via this page. It’s really cool. Here’s an example:
Let’s say we wanted to redistribute this picture of a vicious-looking guinea pig:

We’ll need something to hide it in, so what better than a picture of another guinea pig? It has to look less mean though. In fact, let’s use two!

We encrypt it, and voilà, rather surprisingly, we get … the same picture!

Ah, but there’s more than meets the eye! In fact, if we decrypt that image, here’s what we get:

Okay, so it’s in black and white—did I not mention that? Anyway, we’ve successfully transported our fierce little friend!
I have to admit, he’s not so scary after all. If he were, I wouldn’t have found him at my favorite Wikipedia article of all time. Many thanks go out to its content providers.
Partly, yes. But, mostly, it’s a pretty simple trick. Here’s the 411, homies:
If that doesn’t explain it, the source code may clear up a thing or two, although it’s just as likely to do the opposite. In this case, take it from me: it’s sheer witchcraft.
